Engineer - Geometry and Welding Quality
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Stamped Part Geometry Validation:
- Check the stamped part GEO status and capability.
- Collect parts and manage measurements with the CMM lab if needed.
- Evaluate geometry results.
- Verify the connection part GEO status.
- Inspect gaps in the welding line.
- Define and set tolerance changes to achieve compliant results and avoid welding issues.
- Review Welding Documents:
- Ensure welding reports clearly identify weld seams.
- Define sample parts for welding controls according to drawings.
- Specify the number of cross-sections as per welding standards.
- Clearly define welding seam lengths in documents.
- Identify TLD seams accurately.
- Support Visual Sample Preparation:
- Select parts for samples.
- Apply KTL paint to samples.
- Mark seams on samples with color coding.
- Identify and place samples on the line.
- Data Collection Support:
- Gather welding test results (cross-sections, seam lengths).
- Update welding result follow-up files/KPIs.
- Conduct other destructive tests.
- Collect painting test results.
- Record bushing in/out results.
- Document waxing results.
- Compile geometry results.
- Track rework statistics.
- Monitor scrap statistics.
- Product Control Before Shipment:
- Ensure product quality before shipment.
- Prepare Shipment Documentation:
- Compile necessary documentation for shipment.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to read and understand customer drawings.
- Proficiency in interpreting CMM reports.
- English proficiency for effective communication with the team.
- Familiarity with VW group standards and requirements.
DURATION OF THE PROJECT: 6 to 9 months
