Position Overview
We are seeking a Vehicle Dynamics & Chassis Safety Engineer to lead the development, validation, and safety analysis of chassis systems across program development phases. In this role, you will evaluate vehicle dynamics, perform system safety assessments, and conduct root-cause analysis to ensure superior quality, performance, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Dynamics & Quality Validation: Lead the development and validation of Vehicle Dynamics functionality as it relates to overall chassis quality and warranty performance.
Functional Safety & ISO 26262: Execute safety analyses and maintain working knowledge of ISO 26262 to support safety-related requirement definition, allocation, traceability, and verification.
System Optimization: Minimize vehicle and suspension sensitivity to road surface forces, assembly build variations, vehicular architecture, and component wear.
Performance Testing: Manage quality testing activities across all program phases—from early target setting and design definition to prototype and pre-production (pilot) testing.
NVH & Dynamics Sensitivity: Mitigate performance issues such as brake rotor wear (judder), tire/wheel imbalance, vehicle lead/drift/pull, steering wander, torque steer, and vehicle shake/ride.
Data Acquisition & Analysis: Perform in-vehicle accelerometer measurements (instrumentation, data processing, and interpretation) per quality test standards; analyze data to identify safety or vibration concerns.
Safety Hazard Analysis: Identify potential hazards associated with braking, steering, suspension, and vehicle dynamics; evaluate how component failures, wear, and build tolerances impact stability and controllability.
Root-Cause Investigation: Support root-cause investigations for chassis safety and quality concerns, document findings, validate corrective actions, and recommend design improvements to mitigate risk.
Profil
Qualifications & Requirements

Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of vehicle vibration data acquisition and processing.
Experience with DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) Green/Black Belt or Shainin Green/Black Belt methodologies.
Proficiency with standard office productivity tools (MS Office, Google Workspace).
Personal & Professional Attributes:
Strong proactive and reactive problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to collaborate effectively in team environments as well as work independently.
Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously.
Licensing & Mobility Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with no physical driving restrictions.
Ability to work across local development and proving ground facilities.
Willingness to travel (approx. 10% domestic travel within North America, including winter testing trips lasting 2–3 weeks based on weather and surface condition needs).
