Aufgabe


The Design and Release Engineer (DRE) – Front Lighting is responsible for the design, development, integration, and release of exterior lighting components from early concept through program launch.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Packaging: Work with the Product Design Office (PDO) to develop the styling/first-surface theme for headlamps, tail lamps, and signal lighting. Coordinate with suppliers to design the B-surface (internal reflectors/optics, housing, and internals).

Vehicle Integration: Package and integrate lighting assemblies onto surrounding vehicle architecture, including the Body-in-White (BIW), front fascia, bumper, grille, and fenders.

Performance & Compliance: Ensure lamp output, optical performance, and legal safety standards comply with all regional homologation, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Architecture/Vehicle Concepts, Program Science teams, local engineering, and supplier engineering to manage development timelines, weight, and cost objectives.

Qualifications & Competencies

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of exterior lighting plastic product development, tooling, and optics/electronics integration.

CAD & PLM Systems: Familiarity with automotive CAD/PLM environments (e.g., CATIA, NX, Teamcenter, Enovia) for release milestones.

Problem Solving: Proven experience managing supplier deliverables, resolving vehicle packaging/gap-and-flush issues, and supporting launch activities.

Profil
