CAE Engineer – ICE Dynamics & Durability
We are seeking a CAE Engineer – ICE Dynamics & Durability with strong knowledge of internal combustion engine (ICE) systems, cranktrain dynamics, and durability analysis. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with AVL Excite and Abaqus, with exposure to engine dynamic simulations and structural durability assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform dynamic and durability analysis of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) components with a focus on cranktrain systems.
- Develop and execute cranktrain dynamic simulation models using AVL Excite PU to evaluate vibration, loads, and dynamic behavior.
- Conduct structural and durability analyses of engine components using Abaqus to assess stress, strain, fatigue life, and component performance.
- Analyze crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, bearings, flywheel, and other rotating engine components under various operating conditions.
- Define material properties, contacts, joints, loads, and boundary conditions for dynamic and structural simulations.
- Correlate simulation results with test data and recommend model improvements to enhance prediction accuracy.
- Investigate engine vibration, NVH-related issues, and durability concerns, providing engineering recommendations for design optimization.
- Collaborate with engine design, testing, and validation teams to improve engine performance, durability, and reliability.
- Prepare technical reports, present simulation results, and support engineering reviews with data-driven recommendations.
- Ensure analyses comply with OEM engineering standards, simulation best practices, and product development requirements.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) fundamentals and engine architecture.
- Good knowledge of ICE dynamics, including cranktrain behavior, rotating systems, and engine vibration.
- Experience in ICE durability analysis and structural performance evaluation.
- Hands-on experience with AVL Excite PU for cranktrain dynamics simulations.
- Experience using Abaqus for structural and durability finite element analysis.
- Good understanding of finite element analysis (FEA), material behavior, contacts, and nonlinear simulations.
- Ability to interpret simulation results and provide engineering recommendations for design improvements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ICE MechSys simulations.
- Exposure to Contecs Simanve or similar simulation tools.
