Aufgabe
We are seeking a highly analytical and leadership-driven Project Economical Manager (PEM) to oversee and optimize project cost commitments across Advanced Projects, Main Projects, and Serial Life phases. In this pivotal role, you will consolidate all economic elements of our propulsion projects to reach target costs, ensure an optimal cost-to-performance ratio, and manage all actions with potential financial impacts.
Acting as the single point of contact for the Propulsion System organization on program vehicles, you will drive cost convergence plans and manage multimillion-dollar investment budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Cost Management
Cost Structuring: Define and structure project cost management activities according to established "Job Share," "Pay Share," and RASI matrices with project partners.
Design-to-Cost Monitoring: Monitor product design against cost objectives to ensure Total Product Cost (TPC) and investments are fully optimized alongside performance, quality, timing, and R&D metrics.
Convergence Plans: Lead cross-functional cost convergence plans to bridge gaps and hit economic targets.
Budgeting, Contracts & Forecasting
Financial Forecasting: Provide detailed economic reporting including TPC forecasts, potential cost variances, R&D expenses, and investment status.
Manufacturing & Supplier Alignment: Build Transformation Cost contracts with Manufacturing and establish Investment contracts for "Make or Buy" decisions. Provide clear component target costs to Purchasing/GPSC.
Risk & Opportunity Management: Build, monitor, and mitigate the project's Risk and Opportunity financial portfolio.
VEMO Controlling Reporting: Manage yearly investments and expenses, including monthly budget breakdowns, F1/F2 forecasting, and expense landing analysis.
Partnership & Collaboration
Support and maintain financial relationships with external partners within cooperation projects, ensuring economic convergence and reporting to cooperation authorities.
Profil
Basic Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Applied Physics, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field.
Product Development Experience: 2+ years of design, development, or program management experience within Product Development/Vehicle Engineering, specifically involving:
ePowertrain (Batteries, Drive Modules, etc.), Powertrain Adaptation, engines, transmissions, drivelines, vehicle packaging, controls, or calibrations.
Driveability, synthesis, vehicle integration, emissions, or powertrain planning.
Cost Management Experience: 1+ years of direct experience in cost management roles with specific responsibility for Budgets and Total Product Cost (TPC).
Core Skills: * Proven leadership, communication, presentation, and cross-functional organization skills.
Strong project management and planning capabilities.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science in an Engineering discipline listed above and/or a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Demonstrated team-building skills.
High degree of self-motivation with the ability to operate autonomously and drive next steps with minimal guidance.
