Aufgabe

Domain Expertise:

 

  • Hands-on experience with any of automotive commodities: Exterior, Interior, Chassis, or Electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of commodity cost drivers and manufacturing processes (stamping, moulding, casting, assembly, etc.) to deliver cost targets.
  • Basic knowledge of using CAD tools (e.g., for viewing, measuring, and analysing 3D models/drawings) and familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems
  • Strong understanding of automotive product development milestones (Program start to Job 1) and change management processes.


Professional Skills:

 

  • Exceptional understanding of cost drivers for identifying cost opportunities from supplier quotes.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to manage complex trackers and financial data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with regional and global cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, keen to learn new skills and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.


Digital & Automation Skills: (Added advantage)

 

  • Practical knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools (specifically Power BI for data visualization, Power Automate for workflow automation or Power Apps for custom business solutions).
  • Proven track record of automating manual tasks, reports, or database tracking to improve team operational efficiency.
  • Basics knowledge of PLM tools like Teamcenter or 3Dx. 


Cost Management & Strategy:

  • Financial Tracking & Reporting: Monitor, update, and report program cost status, including Risks & Opportunities (R&O), regularly from Program Start through Job 1.
  • Cross-Functional Trade-Offs: Lead financial trade-off discussions with Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs) to evaluate and balance cost changes against product requirements.
  • Supplier & Estimate Alignment: Partner with suppliers to secure detailed quotes and collaborate with internal Cost Estimation teams to establish accurate estimates for engineering changes.
  • CFT Governance: Facilitate and drive CFT meetings involving Finance, Purchasing (Buyers), and Cost Estimation teams.
  • Target Cost Gap Closure: Identify opportunities from supplier quotes regarding Material Costs, Tooling Costs, and ED&T (Engineering Design & Testing) throughout the design, development, and launch phases.
  • Change Management: Maintain the program change tracker from program start to Job


Sourcing Management & Strategy:

 

  • Sourcing Alignment: Support & track the execution of SOBA (Supplier On Board Agreement) plan.
  • Engineering Design & Testing Management: Verify supplier ED&T against the Engineering Statement of Work (ESOW) and secure approvals from the governance board.
  • Funding & Procurement: Prepare and present Tooling Cost estimates to Program Management. Track and report Tooling and Purchase Order (PO) updates to Key stake holders.
