BOM / Spare Parts Specialist

Job Description

The ME BIW Equipment BOM / Spare parts Specialist is responsible to manage and control all spare parts for all BIW new model launches.
Receives and analyzes Integrators recommended spare parts lists and looks for potential cost savings.
Orders new spare parts for new model launches.
Manages spare parts budget, interacts with Manufacturing Finance.
Tracks spare parts order, shipment, and delivery to the Plants.
Interacts with Suppliers and Integrators.
Makes sure the Plants receive the spare parts on time before J1 Production phase.
Interacts directly with Plant Maintenance.
Investigate, research, and approve new technologies to be used for mechanical components.
Works with suppliers to test new technologies making sure these technologies are cost effective and reliable.
Control and Manage the PPSL Program Preferred Supplier List for Mechanical, Joining, and Laser cells. (Released per new program launches).
Prepare and approve new part requisitions as they are created, as part of spare part ordering and emergency field calls.
Control and complete the GRs in SAP for PO’s that were shipped to our plants, ensuring spare parts are received according to program timing.

Qualifications

Demonstrated team leadership and communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering OR in another technical discipline with [equivalent] engineering experience.
Minimum 2+ years of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Launch experience with an emphasis on Equipment BOM’s, Supplier product functions.
MTTR / MTBF knowledge and downtime effects.
Proven Experience with NPM part coding, MLM group and Code creation team
Problem solving skills specific to spare parts and system designs.
Strong and proficient on Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint, Word, Outlook, TMS, and Pentasap.
Experienced with Part numbers, SAP part ordering and extending.
Experience with creating CWO’s, working with the investment team to establish and maintain funding.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Strong and proficient understanding of Control and Mechanical parts and usage.
Knowledge of part criticality, life cycles and onsite part timing milestones.
Knowledge of SharePoint and Teamcenter downloads and approvals.
Ability to coordinate the ordering and shipment of parts and equipment for stamping and assembly plants.

Preferred Qualifications

Advance degree is preferred.
Minimum 2+ experience on Plants part shipment and part handling or equivalent.
