Expression of Interest – Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Description
This role requires expertise in electrical engineering for complex systems, with responsibilities spanning design, development, integration, and validation of electrical and electronic systems. The position involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure system performance, compliance, and reliability in industrial and technological applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical System Design & Development:
- Develop technical electrical solutions for industrial and technological applications.
- Design and implement electrical architectures, including power distribution, control systems, and embedded electronics.
- Create and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
- Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis to ensure system performance and compliance.
Integration, Testing & Validation:
- Lead system integration efforts, ensuring compatibility of electrical components and subsystems.
- Conduct verification and validation testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of electrical systems.
- Develop and execute test plans, analyzing results to drive continuous improvements.
- Provide support for commissioning and field deployments.
Prototype Build Involvement:
- Support prototype builds by providing electrical system design input and troubleshooting support.
- Collaborate with workshop teams to ensure proper assembly, wiring, and integration of electrical components.
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues during prototype testing and validation.
- Work with manufacturing and fabrication teams to refine electrical system designs for build feasibility.
- Ensure prototype build documentation, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions are accurate and up to date.
Technical Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and regulatory submissions.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and reliability analysis.
Collaboration & Project Support:
- Work closely with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to achieve project goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
- Engage with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders to define requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
- Support project planning, cost estimation, and risk management activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in electrical system design and development, preferably in industrial, automotive, or energy sectors.
- Strong understanding of power systems, control systems, and industrial communication protocols.
- Proficiency with electrical design tools (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, Altium).
- Experience with PLC programming, embedded systems, or automation technologies is an advantage.
- Knowledge of compliance standards such as AS/NZS, IEC, or ISO.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
