Senior Mechanical Engineer (Oil & Gas)

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with solid experience in Oil & Gas maintenance to support ongoing operations on a project in Basilicata. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of mechanical systems across the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and optimize maintenance strategies for mechanical equipment, ensuring alignment with reliability goals.
Supervise maintenance execution and audits; validate procedures for routine and major interventions.
Support shutdown planning and execution; coordinate cross-departmental task alignment.
Monitor equipment performance, identify early failures, and implement corrective actions.
Drive condition-based maintenance and performance improvements.
Provide input on equipment selection and maintenance engineering for revamps and small projects.
Oversee spare parts management (MRP, obsolescence, stock levels).
Manage contractors and ensure third-party compliance with technical standards.
Lead incident investigations and ensure implementation of corrective measures.
Contribute to annual maintenance budgets; monitor and control related costs.
Apply campaign-based maintenance planning to optimize resources.
Support diagnostics and maintenance during planned/unplanned shutdowns.
Respond to critical equipment emergencies and define action plans.

Qualifications

Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: 10+ years in mechanical maintenance roles within the Oil & Gas sector.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, independent, and results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and interact with multidisciplinary departments.
- Comfortable making decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Languages: Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken).
Reporting: High proficiency in technical and operational reporting.
