Aircraft Painter

Job Description

We are seeking skilled Production Painters responsible for applying finishes to aircraft products, assemblies, and parts. The role involves processing, coating application, and part identification, along with minor assembly and repair work within the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive comprehensive job training to enhance production efficiency.
  • Utilize job-related equipment such as hand tools, power tools, air tools, and computers.
  • Perform process activities including painting, media blasting, masking, stenciling, and part identification marking.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting using pneumatic sanders or manual methods.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, process instructions, customer specifications, job aids, and work instructions.
  • Adhere to company, OSHA, ISO, and Nadcap safety and quality procedures.
  • Access and comply with material MSDS data and Spirit Safety policies.
  • Maintain required certifications, qualifications, and licenses.
  • Work from elevated platforms such as lifts, scaffolding, and ladders.
  • Use test equipment to verify that applications meet customer requirements through self-inspections.
  • Input necessary data into the FDAQ database.
  • Perform rework and product updates as required.
  • Follow "Clean as You Go" policy for paint booths and designated areas.
  • Keep the Paint Mix room clean and organized.
  • Conduct routine minor equipment maintenance, including cleaning and replacing components like O-rings and valves.
  • Move products within the manufacturing work area using shop-assigned equipment, including ovens and overhead cranes.
  • Support production flow by training and assisting employees of the same or lower classification.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Assist Assembly Technicians as requested by the Manager or Team Lead.

Qualifications

 

  • Must be willing to work any shift.
  • Must pass a respirator test.
  • +1 year as Aircraft Painter 
  • Paint line operates two 12-hour shifts to support recovery and normal processing.
