Quality Control Inspector - Non-destructive Testing
Job Description
- Calibration and qualification control of examination media provided by inspection companies.
- Verification of valid qualifications/certifications and scope of qualifications/ certifications of NDT personnel provided by inspection companies.
- Prepare NDE requests, collect reports and verify them, including wet signature confirmation.
- Inserting NDE data into the software Pipebuilder.
- RT films and Reports review, including resolving non-conformities with the NDT subcontractor (re-shooting, reports update/revision/re-submission, etc).
- Checking of Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE) for proper performance according to project requirements, procedures, and specification.
- Project-based instruction of supervisory staff/inspection companies/employees.
- Review and improvement of NDE procedures on project-based specifications and revision/approval of it.
- Defining welds to be tested, as well type of NDE test.
- Sample check of the NDE subcontractor during RT execution (including late shift).
- Quantitative check and approval for monthly bills of the performed tests.
- Keeps in touch with the WSF and the QCW for an exchange of information on the welds to be tested and states the daily testing parameters.
- Implementation of inspections on due time and in a professional manner according to project-based procedures and inspection instructions, as well as fabrication-related documents.
- Clarifying and preparing conditions required for inspection at the place of implementation
- Coordinating inspections with the customer and technical supervision authority, as well as non-destructive material testing with inspection supervision
- Monitoring and recording of inspection status in fabrication-related documents.
- Recording/providing results to the WSF and QCW.
- Providing/transferring records for further management to the documentation.
- Handling, storage and archiving of records and RT films according to the project requirements.
- Monitoring RT film storage conditions and assurance that it meets Client specification.
- Adapting RT films storage conditions to project requirements.
- Participates in the meetings with Client, and or Suppliers, Subcontractors.
- Provide technical advice within own field of responsibility.
- Support QAI in solving NCR concerning NDE.
- Reports to QMP (Quality Project Manager).
Qualifications
- Mechanical or Welding Engineer or Science and Materials Engineering
- PT level 2 and RT level 2 certification are mandatory (VT level 2, MT level 2 and UT level 2 certification are considered a plus).
- Work experience in a related field: at least 5 years, preferably gained within the field the nuclear plants, mechanical repairs, oil industry.
- Advanced English language skills.
- Hands on with MS Office software.
- Category B Driving license,
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong team working skills
- Availability for alternate jobs.
