Marie, Business Manager
My role at SEGULA Technologies
I’m responsible for managing export projects in the naval sector, dedicated among other things to technology transfer, support for project management and use of innovative tools for augmented reality. For example, carrying out checks on board a ship for mounting of foundations (assembled metal plates) to check that it all complies with the initial model.
My role is to support our clients’ activity, provide solutions and respond to their needs when it comes to project support and also to help colleagues in my team to do their work and build on their skills.
Professional experience
I previously worked in various sectors (Agro-food, textile, telecommunications) as a sales assistant, among other roles, then I joined SEGULA. I have been with the Group for seven years now and have held several roles in the naval sector in Cherbourg (quality manager, customer management support, business manager, etc.).
Training
After obtaining my BTS Management Assistant qualification and a vocational degree in Export Logistics followed by ten years of work experience, I returned to my studies by taking a 2-year Master’s course in Innovative Business Management before being recruited by SEGULA.
My biggest project
My first experience at SEGULA was working on accommodation spaces on the series of Barracuda submarines in Cherbourg. This involved ensuring the quality of our deliverables, i.e. providing plans and 3D models for the routing of pipes and cables, and metal plates (foundations) required to position the submarine’s equipment. I felt proud to see the first of this series of submarines delivered to the French navy last summer. I’m glad I was able to be part of this large-scale project.
My greatest passion
Outdoor activities such as climbing, mountaineering, hiking, cycling…
My biggest dream
I could be interested in taking a role abroad in the future but that is still a personal consideration!
The + at Segula
The diversity of the business sectors that I have been able to work on in the naval branch is blessing. It offers interesting and varied career opportunities according to your career path.
The working environment in our BU is also a real asset and our strength when it comes to attracting new employees.
Continuously develop your skills
We offer our employees a wide range of development opportunities, both personal and professional. This development is achieved through two major axes: training and ever more innovative projects that invite employees to surpass themselves and to leave their comfort zone.
The health crisis has not hindered our approach: the Segula Academy has partnered with LinkedIn Learning to accelerate the digitalization of its training offer.

+ Greatest project?
I had the opportunity to spend 9-months working side by side with the companies and people who build wheeled vehicles for our military. We provided expertise in design, system integration, and technical consulting during the manufacturing of the first generation vehicles which were being purposefully built for critical and specialized missions.
+ Greatest passion?
I am passionate about spending time outside, enjoying the warmth and sunshine of summer days. I enjoy boating, fishing trips and landscaping. I also enjoy diagnosing mechanical issues and working with my hands to fix them.
+ Greatest dream?
Professionally, my greatest dream is to incorporate my enthusiasm for emerging technologies and business leadership into the fast paced and adrenaline filled motorsports industry. Where hopefully, I can also get my hands dirty from time to time. Personally, I am focused on being a good first-time father and supporting my wife’s dreams.

I follow up on studies carried out by the Special Edition Implementation team as well as following up vehicles on the production line at the Annonay plant.

I graduated from ENSIL Limoges as a Mechatronics Engineer (Bac +5 or master’s degree equivalent), with a specialisation in transport. During this course, I went to Sweden for an Erasmus semester at the University of Trollhättan.
+ Greatest project?
I had the opportunity to do a research internship at the University of Kent in 2015 and therefore to take part in the European COALAS project which aims to improve the quality of life of people suffering from a loss of autonomy by building on advances in robotics.
My assignment focused mainly on the concept of the autonomous and semi-autonomous navigation of electric wheelchairs. It was a very rewarding experience in terms of what our development could contribute.

I also love to travel to discover the landscapes of the world, to be in contact with nature and different cultures. I am also passionate about music, which is the rhythm of my daily life.
+ Greatest dream?
I want to continue working in areas that allow me to improve people’s daily lives. In the long term, I want to be able to manage a team in order to bring out the best in everyone in their work. I also plan to combine my passion with my work, working internationally or in the equestrian field, by participating, for example, in the development of new means of transport for animals.
+ at SEGULA Technologies?
I chose to work at Segula Technologies because I was given the opportunity to work in a position that perfectly matched my expectations and thus to develop myself in the industrial field. In the near future, I would like to become a business driver so that I can continue to acquire knowledge and skills in different fields, both from a technical and a human issue point of view.

Work/life balance
Because flexibility at work is a source of professional and personal fulfillment, we provide our employees with autonomy. This demonstrates the trust we place in them and the interest we take in the balance of their professional and private lives. This is one of the benefits most noted by our employees.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have also strengthened the existing telecommuting arrangements because we care about their health and that of their loved ones.

Andrejs, Technical Leader
I have worked at SEGULA Technologies since 2016, first as a geometry-engineer, upon the recommendation of a former colleague. Then, I held the position of components localisation manager for PCMA (Peugeot Citroën Mitsubishi Automobiles) Russia.
My role
Creating work-package RFQs (Request for Quotation) for the client and presentations (specifications for technical components, adaptation for the Russian marketplace).
After receiving confirmation from the client, we present a complete evaluation and adjust the project with the supplier (PSMA).
After the supplier’s appointment to the project, we monitor the terms and dates across all stages, from PPAP (interaction with the supplier before serial production) until SOP (project handover/transfer to serial life).
I worked on the localization of the following vehicle components: radiators, capacitors, compressors, air coolers for turbines, fan motors, cooling component assemblies.
I was also responsible for the following components: stabilizers, springs for shock absorbers, drawers for tools.
From 2018, I worked on another project. The first four months involved working on interior parts (dashboard, cross car beam, seats, carpet, roof headliner, glass) and safety parts like safety belts and airbags. I still work here now. Currently, I am responsible for radiators, pedals, protective thermo-screens for the exhaust system, engine vibration pads, air coolers for turbines.
My achievements
My top success was working on the van and minivan project. We successfully cooperated with the team and managed the goals for the percentage of localization and achieved the objectives required. As a result, we received great feedback and praise from our supplier.
My training
I graduated from Latvian Maritime Academy, specialising in the mechanics of marine and power installations. After graduation, I worked as a marine engineer and dealt with vessel repairs and provided a service for additional components: pumps, metal pots, electric motors, gas generators.
My passions and my leitmotiv
I am proud of my family; they are my inspiration and they motivate me to progress. I love spending my free time with my family, walking and travelling. I like riding on my motorbike. Sometimes, I take a ride with my friends along the sea or forest paths. I repair my motorbike myself.
My future goals
Due to the current situation, I think we (humans) should reject or avoid overconsumption. Meaning, for example, reducing the use of plastic packaging petrochemicals. We should adopt a more eco-friendly attitude by using more bio-oil in the future to preserve our environment and our planet.
The best thing about SEGULA
For sure, SEGULA is a place where you can be independent and work with hard-working colleagues. You have the opportunity to work remotely and organise your own working space. Keep in mind, the greater freedom offered is your responsibility, which means only you are responsible for your achievements.
