Job Description

SEGULA Technologies are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to lead / complete a project in a fully automated UB line in the West Midlands for a leading OEM.

You will be responsible for overseeing the final installation & commissioning phase of a fully automated Underbody line.

You should have demonstrable understanding of the following:-

  • Factory acceptance testing and User Acceptance testing.
  • Equipment Safety Buy off
  • Cycle time confirmation
  • Dimensional Quality Maturation working to Grey-book standards
  • Capturing issues from initial commissioning through preproduction runs, SOP to Job1+90 days mile stones.
  • Maintaining a project board showing open issues and feeding back to senior management progress or issues in various forums
  • Direct liaison with the supplier / line builder.


  • BIW Bill of Process
  • Understanding of Joining technology
  • BIW Manufacturing Processes specifically related to Steel & Aluminium construction processes used in the automotive industry.
  • Understanding of GSPAS process planning tool
  • Understanding of Equal Body Hole Size performance process
  • Cycle time measurement & Optimisation of automated cells
  • Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering Document systems would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of ROBCAD or similar would also be advantageous
  • Experience in equipment buy off and vendor performance testing is vital.
