PMC - Piping Supervisor-Basra, IRAQ

Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced PMC Piping Supervisor to oversee piping construction activities for a high-profile Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. The Piping Supervisor will ensure that all piping works, including fabrication, installation, and testing, are completed in compliance with project specifications, timelines, and safety standards. This role demands technical expertise, leadership, and experience managing large-scale piping construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage all piping construction activities, ensuring alignment with project specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Monitor the installation of piping systems, including welding, assembly, and testing, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality, identify potential issues, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Review and approve piping drawings, isometric diagrams, and test packages to confirm accuracy and adherence to requirements.
  • Oversee hydrotesting, flushing, and pre-commissioning activities for piping systems.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and installation of piping materials and equipment.
  • Promote adherence to HSE policies and procedures, fostering a culture of safety on-site.
  • Maintain detailed records of construction activities, including progress updates, delays, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports to project management, highlighting milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 8-12 years of experience in piping construction supervision, with a focus on Oil & Gas or pipeline projects.
    • Proven experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of piping construction processes, welding techniques, and international standards (e.g., ASME, API).
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, and layouts.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Strong leadership and communication abilities for effective team and stakeholder coordination.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure high-quality standards in a dynamic environment.
