We are currently seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support a short-term site supervision assignment for a renewable energy project in Al Ain.
Job Description
The Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for the on-site supervision of geotechnical investigation works, ensuring all field activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily on-site supervision of geotechnical investigation activities in Al Ain.
- Supervise the drilling of two geotechnical boreholes.
- Supervise all related geophysical survey activities associated with the investigation works.
- Ensure drilling, logging, sampling, and field testing activities comply with approved methodologies and project specifications.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
- Coordinate daily with the site team and project stakeholders.
- Review field logs, drilling records, and investigation data for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and submit weekly progress reports, highlighting completed activities, observations, issues, and recommendations.
- Report technical issues promptly and recommend corrective actions where required.
- Ensure quality, safety, and environmental requirements are maintained throughout the assignment.
Profile
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Proven experience supervising geotechnical site investigations, including borehole drilling and geophysical surveys.
- Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or large civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical investigation techniques, field testing, and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently in a site-based environment.
- UAE experience is preferred.
- UAE driving licence is an advantage.
